As a leader in science, you are confronted with a multitude of demands. Leadership is a complex and sometimes extremely challenging task. This workshop focuses on the role and tasks of leaders in the context of TUD and on teaching essential leadership skills for academics with leadership responsibility.
Schwerpunkte
  • (Partial) roles and instruments of a leader
  • Confidently guiding team dynamics: team roles and stages of team development
  • Overview of existing leadership styles, with a particular focus on transformational leadership
  • Approaches to employee motivation
  • Proven methods for communicating with employees
    (active listening, questioning techniques, feedback, dealing with resistance)
Lernziele
The participants...
  • are familiar with various leadership styles and instruments as well as the basics of team development,
  • are able to reflect on their own role as leaders,
  • know which opportunities for exchange and networking within the academic environment are meaningful and sustainable.
Methoden
Practical exercises, small-group work, interactive training sequences, and reflection sessions. Theoretical foundations are combined with the reflection of practical situations (case work). All content is adapted to the participants’ prior knowledge and expectations.
